Benny Harold Todd
Benny Harold Todd, 100, of Groves, passed away on Thursday, October 20, 2022, at his home in Groves.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, October 25, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Groves. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves. There will also be Military Graveside Rites following the service at First Baptist Church.
Visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 25, 2022, at First Baptist Church in Groves.
Benny was born in Sumrall, MS on August 13, 1922, he was the son of William and Sallie Todd.
He was a graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School. Mr. Todd enlisted and served in the United States Army Air Corps during WWII. Upon his discharge, he returned to Groves to work at BF Goodrich and married the love of his life. They remained married for seventy-five years. Mr. Todd has lived in Groves for over eighty years. He retired from BF Goodrich and has remained very active in his community and church. For many years he served on the board of directors of DuGood Credit Union and was also a long time Deacon of First Baptist Church of Groves. He was also a lifetime member of the VFW 4820. He was an avid PNG Indians fan and had held season tickets for over sixty years.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Audie Flowers Todd, four sisters, two brothers, and two half-brothers.
He is survived by three children: Margaret Todd Fails (Arvin), Johnny Todd (Annette), and Marlyn Trahan (Charlie); seven grandchildren: Gary Fails (Heidi), Toby Fails (Lisa), Niki Fails, Amanda Richards Jackson (Henry), Ashley Todd (Beth), Adam Todd (Lauren), and Ryan Trahan (Skylar); fourteen great-grandchildren: Macie Hardin, Peyton Fails, Olivia Fails, Kylie Fails, Maggie Fails, Trevor Benson, Alexis Todd, Adyn Todd, Adyson Todd, Asher Todd, Ben Crenshaw, Desi Todd, Benny Todd, and Harper Trahan, along with dozens of nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers will be Gary Fails, Toby Fails, Ashley Todd, Adyn Todd, Peyton Fails, Ryan Trahan, and Adam Todd.
