Bernadette McBride, 97, of Port Neches, Texas passed away Wednesday, April 6, 2011 at Cypress Glen East in Port Arthur. Bernadette was born in Lawtell, Louisiana on April 19, 1913 to Mack Boudreaux and Bertha Bihm Boudreaux. She moved from Louisiana to Port Neches in 1936. She was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church where she was active in the Altar Society. She was preceded in death by her husband, Everd McBride, sister, Lula Boudreaux, brothers, Rodney, Henry, Alex and Robert Boudreaux. Surviving relatives include 2 daughters, Sue Hearne of Port Arthur and Janelle McBride of Port Neches; 2 sons, Charles Lindy McBride and wife, Llewellyn of Port Neches; Patrick Bruce McBride and wife, Elaine of Groves; 14 grandchildren, Carol Houseman, Kathy Hebert and husband, Jim, Patti Addison and husband, Steve, Charles McBride, Mary McBride, Christine Robicheaux and husband, Doug, Lorraine Rice, Michael McBride and wife, Allison, Lee McBride and wife, Barrette, Cindy Hagler and husband, Ricky, Pat McBride and wife, Linda, Sherri Deloney and husband, Jamie, Mary Hearne, Joe Hearne; 52 great grandchildren and 12 great-great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Charles McBride, Pat McBride, Michael McBride, Lee McBride, Joe Hearne and Scott Hearne. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, April 9, 2011 at 12:30 p.m. at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church with Rev. Monsignor Bennie Patillo officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park. Visitation for family and friends will be Friday, April 8, 2011 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. with a Vigil Service to begin at 7:00 p.m. at Levingston Funeral Home in Port Neches. Bernadette had a deep love for her church family and friends. Her hospitality and gumbo will be long remembered.
