Bernice Lehman

Bernice Lehman, 94, of Nederland, passed away at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont on July 30, 2011. She was born to the late Emile LeComb and Eva Comeaux LeComb in Crowley, Louisiana. on June 28, 1917. Bernice was a lifelong resident of Port Acres and had been employed as a waitress. She was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church in Nederland.Bernice is survived by her son, Leon Lehman of Lumberton daughter, Laura Fay Reese and husband Albert, Jr., of Nederland sister, Mary Thibodeaux of Nederland, also survived by twelve grandchildren, twentysix great grandchildren and eleven greatgreat grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Mause Lehman daughters, Lois White and Sylvia Garcia, four sisters and four brothers.Bernice loved to cook and play bingo as well as doing crafts. The family extends a special thanks to the staff on floor three at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas and also the Harbor Hospice House in Beaumont along with Tina Garcia.A gathering of family and friends will be held at Melancon39s Funeral Home, 1605 Avenue H in Nederland on Monday, August 1, 2011 from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary being recited at 6:00 p.m. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 2, 2011 at the funeral home, Reverend Monsignor Dan Malain officiating. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery of Jefferson County in Nederland.Pallbearers will be Kirt Reese, Keith Reese, Robert Garcia, Jessie Garcia, Anthony Lehman and Pat Sonnier.
