Bernice Fortune Wolford, 86 of Houston, Texas passed away Monday, September 21, 2020.

Bernice was born July 20, 1934 in Port Arthur, Texas to Morris Paul Fortune and Clara Fitzgerald Fortune. She was a former resident of Port Arthur before moving to Houston 49 years ago.

Bernice was a member of Holy Spirit Episcopal Church in Houston and a retired teacher from W. Lafayette ISD.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and sister Barbara Dwyer.

Survivors include her loving husband, Fred V. Wolford of Houston; daughters, Cynthia Sumner and husband John of Sheldon, IL, and Cheryl Wolford of Lufkin; grandchildren, Spencer Sumner, Shelby Sumner, and John Ross Sumner.

A private graveside service will be held at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
