Bertha was involved in so many activities at St. Charles. Great job on her obituary. One thing I did not see mentioned was the and Larry were on the Parish Council together twice - they were a formidable pair!! She not only started the Red Hat Sisters at St. Charles but helped many, many other chapters to get started in our area. She was a wonderful woman and will be missed.

Bertha was such a lovely, friendly and kind woman. She was a dear friend of my late Mother-in-law, Jackie Stacey. I will never forget how warm and welcoming she was to me when I joined the family. She loved her friends and family and will be dearly missed. My condolences. Kristina Stacey

What a phenomenal woman Bertha was!! My life was blessed so much by her being in it!!! We had a lot of wonderful times together!! So glad she was instrumental in getting the Singles Group started @ St Charles!! That is where I met her & several other life long friends!! One of my faborite memories of her was when she, Lynn Begnaud, Robbie Delcambre, & I were going down Nederland Ave after church on a Sunday morning and the song "Matilda" came on the radio. She had Robbie pull over into the abandon gas station so she & Lynn could get out and dance. Robbie got the funny idea for us to drive off & leave them dancing in the parking lot!! So we drove around the block & came back to meet them!! It was hilarious to see there faces drop as the music faded away from them!!! Bertha wasn't even upset. She was laughing. She was just sad she missed the rest of the song!! You need to ask Robbie about "Real Water"!!

Bertha was one of my mom's best friends. She was always there for in anyway possible for my family. You could count on her for a good laugh, a shoulder to cry on and advice. She was ever present at our family's holiday get togethers, taco nights and loved playing cards with my Mom (Nina Franklin) and Aunt Jackie (Jackie Stacey). She was there for us when my mom passed in 2012 and also when Aunt Jackie passed in 2013. She checked on my Daddy often and was a rock for me after his passing in 2016. She was an amazing friend to me and my family and I will miss her. Condolences to her family, you will all be in my thoughts and prayers.
