Ms. Childress is the one who had faith in me when I didnt, and gave me the confidence in myself that I needed to succeed in high school and in life. I absolutely consider her to be the reason that I finished high school and became who I am today. The world has lost a beautiful soul. Im sad that I wont see her again, but even more, im sad she can no longer shine her light upon other youth in need of it. : R.I.P Ms. Bertie Childress. You made more of an impact on me than you will ever know

Nederland has certainly lost one of the most precious people I know. Ms. Bertie was a gem and she always had a smile on her face, even when you knew she was not feeling her . She had a positive outlook and always had something positive to say. There was not a time when I saw her that she did not inquire about how my son, stepsons and husband were doing. She was a genuine caring person and will be missed by many.
