Betty Sue Bertrand, 80, of Port Neches, Texas passed away Monday, February 24, 2014 at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont, Texas. Betty Sue was born October 12, 1933 in Bleakwood, Texas to Alva Daniel and Agnes White Daniel. She was a lifelong resident of this area and a 1952 graduated of Port Neches-Groves High School where she was Head Drum Majorette. She married her high school sweetheart, Adam Bertand and they were married for 60 years before his passing in 2011. She retired from Dupont SRW where she worked as a unit clerk. Betty Sue was involved with Beta Sigma Phi and was a Red Hat Lady. She was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Port Neches where she served as Lector, Choir Member, Homebound Christian Minister, Altar Society, Ladies Guild, and as a Acts Team Minister. Betty Sue was passionate about God, her family and her friends. She invested her time and love to all unconditionally. She loved to cook and enjoyed bringing family and friends together. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, February 27, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Port Neches with Reverend Monsignor Bennie Patillo officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park. Visitation for family and friends will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 26, 2014 with a Rosary to be recited at 5:00 p.m. at Levingston Funeral Home in Port Neches. She was preceded in death by her husband, Adam Bertrand, son, Thomas Lee Bertrand, and sister, Bonnie Lee. Surviving relatives include her sons, Ronald J. Bertrand and wife Denise of Orange, Texas; Roland J. Bertrand and wife Diane of Winnie, Texas; sister, Martha Lindsey and husband Tom of Houston, Texas; grandchildren, Clint Bertrand and wife Jennifer, Adam Lee Bertrand, Shaun Bertrand, Katie Bertrand, Sarah Bertrand Dupuy and Shaye Bertrand, great-grandchildren, Marli Grace Dupuy, Max Tanner, Alex Tanner, and Griffin Thomas Bertrand and several nieces and nephews.
