Betty Jean Guidry, 86, of Nederland, Texas passed away January 21, 2021. She was born in Beaumont, Texas on October 17, 1934 to the late Arthur Edward “Butch” Nolan and Thelma Ella Himmelriech Nolan. Betty worked for Sun Oil Company for 40 years before retiring, then she worked for 12 years for the State of Texas. She was best known as “Honey”. Her house was the gathering place for all the family and friends. Even if you were not family, Betty always treated you as if you were family. Throughout her life, Betty always exhibited class and elegance through her appearance and mannerisms.
Those left to cherish Betty’s memories are her children, Paul Edward Guidry and his wife Kelly of Llano, Stephen Ray Guidry of Nederland, Sheri Lyn Guidry Dingwall of Nederland, Kandi Guidry Vogt and her husband Manuel Montalvo of Conroe, Wilson Scott Guidry and his wife Jeanne Greene Guidry of Nederland; her grandchildren, Nikki, Adam, Jessica, Hannah, Zachary, Hunter, Danielle, Taylor, Jordan, and Trevor; and 7 great-grandchildren. A gathering of family and friends will be held at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. with a funeral service being held at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches.
