Betty Jane Martin

Betty Jane Martin, 83 0f Groves, Texas died Friday, January 20, 2012 at Rose House in Port Arthur, Texas. Betty was born July 6, 1928 in Beaumont, Texas to Marie Alford. She was a resident of the Port Arthur area for over 60 years; she resided at Rose House for the past three years. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church in Port Arthur with Father J.C. Coon officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Levingston Funeral Home in Groves. A visitation for family and friends will be held Tuesday evening from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Levingston Funeral Home, with a 5:00 p.m. Rosary Service recited by St. James Shepherds of Christ. Survivors include her daughter Deborah Ann Weaver and husband Jerry of Houston, TX., sons Thomas A. Martin and wife Brenda of Beaumont, TX., Richard A. Martin and girl friend Lana Patterson of Groves, TX., Michael A. Martin and wife Lauri of Austin, TX.; niece Susie Bullard of Evadale, TX.; cousin Irene David of Youngsville, LA.; 7 grandchildren Jake Martin and fiance Stephanie Sierra, Matthew Martin and wife Amber, Calvin Martin, Jasper Martin, Michael Martin, Ricky Thompson, Hailley Thompson, her three sister-in-laws Shirley Jaubert, Joan Domingue and Sr. Catherine Martin all of Lafayette, LA. Betty was preceded in death by her only sister Mary Lou Buford of Evadale, TX.; her brother-in-law Joseph Martin of Lafayette, LA. and her husband of over 60 years Calvin Martin.
