Betty Ann Nectoux

1951 ∼ 2024

Betty Ann Nectoux, a beloved figure in the Port Arthur community, passed away on May 24, 2024 at The University of Texas MD Anderson Hospital in Houston. She was 72 years old.

Betty was born on August 8, 1951, at St. Mary's Hospital in Port Arthur, Texas. Betty was the daughter of Anthony “Tony” Terracina, Jr., and Margie Mae (Norris) Duplantis. Betty led a remarkable life filled with love, compassion, and dedication to her family and friends. Her legacy extends far beyond her remarkable career achievements.

Betty co-founded Preferred Home Health Care Company and dedicated many years to its success before gracefully transitioning following its sale. Later in life, she took over ownership of the Silver Spur, a private club in Port Arthur, Texas—a responsibility she embraced wholeheartedly after the loss of her husband, George F. Nectoux, Jr.

Family was central to Betty's life; she adored spending time with her grandchildren and never missed an opportunity to support them at their events. Her nurturing spirit and willingness to help others cultivated deep friendships that lasted a lifetime. Many of those friends she considered family.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Margie Mae (Norris) Duplantis and Anthony "Tony" Terracina, Jr., her brother, Tony Terracina IV, spouse, George F. Nectoux, Jr.; and stepmother, Sharon Terracina. She is survived by her children, Kevin Nectoux and wife April Nectoux of Nederland, TX; and Katrina Nectoux McGill of Owasso, OK; grandchildren, Kylar McGill, Bria Nectoux, Brayden Nectoux, and Kaden McGill.

In addition to her immediate family members, Betty is also survived by her sister, Beverly McGee; sisters-in-law, Gale Doty and Leah Elisar; stepfather, Carl Duplantis; as well as numerous friends and extended family members who were deeply touched by her presence.

A gathering of family and friends to honor Betty Nectoux will take place Saturday, June 1, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at Melancon Levingston Funeral Home in Nederland located at 1605 Avenue H in Nederland, Texas. It was Betty’s wishes that anyone attending her Memorial Gathering feel free to dress comfortably.

Betty Ann Nectoux will be remembered for her warmth, kindness, and unwavering dedication to those she loved. Her impact on those around her will continue to inspire and resonate for years to come.

Say Hi to Uncle Vernon for me and till we meet again. .... love, your problem child
