Betty Schexnider, 84, of Groves, Texas, passed away on Thursday, March 9, 2023, at The Medical Center of SETX in Port Arthur.

Graveside Services will be held Saturday, March 11, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches. Officiating will be Reverend Ken Raggio.

Betty was born in Canton, Texas, on May 13, 1938, to Carthol C. “C.C.” Thompson and Lizzie Hays-Thompson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Andrus Schexnider.

She is survived by her daughter, Pam Schexnider of Groves, TX; her granddog, Zoie, and her sisters, Velma Raggio of Port Neches, TX; Patsy “Pat” Bethel and her husband Don of Bossier City, LA, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

I grew up next door to Betty and she is more like family than friend. I love everything about her. She was always ready with a smile and a hug. She shared many plants with me and was a wonderful neighbor to my parents. She adopted my son and grandkids like they were her own. We all loved her and will miss her
