Betty Tanner Patterson, 97, of Groves passed away Friday December 1, 2017 at Brookdale Dowlen Oaks in Beaumont, Texas. She was born on October 19, 1920 in Walker County, Georgia to James Huey Tanner and Frances Tellulah Logan Tanner. Betty loved to travel and crochet. She also enjoyed watching Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, December 4, 2017 at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves with burial to follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Chaplain Mike Anderson will be officiating. A visitation for family and friends will be held before the service on Monday from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin "Bud" Patterson and five sisters, Glennis Wilson White, Bernice Ingles, Bonnie Tanner, Minnie Bryant and Virginia Woodard. She is survived by her step daughter, Melissa Smith of Groves, step son, M.L. Patterson and wife, Deborah of Lovell Lake, three step grandchildren and seven step great grandchildren.
