Betty Lorraine White

Betty Lorraine White, 65, of Nederland, Texas passed away June 15, 2021. She was born in Port Arthur, Texas on May 26, 1956 to the late Walter Edward White, Sr. and Eugenia Grace McGee White. Betty was a faithful member of Grace Church of the Nazarene. She was a proud ordained minister. She was a very caring and giving person. Betty never had any children of her own but loved her nieces and nephews as if they were her own children. Betty truly loved her job working with the mentally challenged, and she treated them like family.
Betty is survived by her sisters, Barbara Bartlett and her husband Luther of Port Arthur, Elizabeth Ann Albers of Nederland, Judith Bergman of Yukon, Oklahoma, Marjorie Louise Goomda of Nederland, and Marilyn Watson of Crosby; her brother, David White and his wife Belinda of South Carolina; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; her siblings, Carolyn Magliolo, Karen Gladson, Patricia Jean Stogdill, and Walter White, Jr.; and her nephew Luther “Bart” Bartlett.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland on Friday, June 25, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., with a Memorial Service to follow at 2:00 p.m., Brother Robert Clark officiant
