Bettye Ward Marquart, 84, of Groves died Thursday, September 22, 2011 at Home Place Private Care Home in Groves. She was born December 14, 1926 in Birmingham, Alabama to Judson Briscoe Ward and Alethia Myers Ward. Bettye had lived in this area for 67 years and was a member of Christian Fellowship Worship Center in Beaumont. She was a housewife and Bible teacher. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, September 26, 2011 at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves with Reverend Jason Richards of Christian Fellowship Worship Center officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park. A visitation for family and friends will be Sunday evening from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Bettye was preceded in death by her husband; John William Marquart, brother; Judson Q. Ward and sister; Gwendolyn Ward Johnson. She is survived by her daughter; Alix Marquart Jennusa and husband, Ronnie of Groves, son; John Paul Marquart and wife, Carolyn of Lumberton, sister; Jeanene Ward Marchand and husband, Robert of New Zealand, four grandchildren; Angela Gotte and husband, Shane , Melanie Meriwether and husband, David, Seth Jennusa and wife, Jamie, and Jared Marquart, and six great grandchildren.

God Love Her!! She was so sweet and I know she will be missed on earth, but she is joyously celebrating in heaven. I can see her now!
