Obituary
Beulah “Fay” Barnett, 78, of Nederland, Texas went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, October 16, 2020 in Nederland. Fay was born on October 2, 1942 in Silsbee, Texas to the late, Emory Lee Hare and Frances Viola Hare.
Fay served at Mid-County Baptist Church in Nederland as Pastor’s Wife from 1978 until Pastor James Barnett’s passing in May of 1990. Fay worked in the childcare department of First Baptist Church in Nederland with 15 years of service and was a member of Central Baptist Church Port Neches at the time of her passing.
Those left to cherish Fay’s memory include her son, Stephen Ernest Barnett and his wife, Jocelyn of Nederland; brothers, Monty “Bo” Beard of Kountze, Texas and Earnest “Ray” Haire of Buna, Texas; three grandchildren, Destiny, James and Daniel; and one great-grandchild, Jude.
In addition to her parents, Fay is preceded in death by her loving husband, Rev. James Barnett; brothers, E.L. Hare, L. Edward Hare, Marshall Kenneth Haire and William Travis Hare.
A gathering of friends and family will be held at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 21, 2020 with the funeral service to begin at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial contributions be made to Central Baptist Church Port Neches 903 Ave B. Port Neches, Texas. 77651.
