Beulah Larsen was a big influence in my life. She was one of the founders of a girls club in Groves called the "Good Cheer Girls." I was a good friend of her daughter Janet, so naturally I joined the new club. I still remember some of our activities, such as putting on shows for the residents of a local nursing home.

I loved Beulah! My mom was her aunt. Mommie stayed in an orphanage and refused to leave Beulah and Beulah's sister Hazel alone in the orphanage. Mommie loved her, and my brothers and sister did as well. My name is Martha Nelson Davis, my sister is Marlyn Nelson, and my brothers are Buzzy Nelson (John Walter) and David Nelson. RIP Aunt Beulah (although I think she was actually a cousin.
