Billee Phillips Painton, 85, passed away December 3, 2010 in Port Arthur. She had been a resident of this area since 1943. She was born to Dr. Claude Phillips, D.C. and Dr. Edith Phillips, D.C. on September 19, 1925 in Davenport, Iowa. Her husband Jack preceded her in death on July 11, 2006. She is survived by her twin sister, Jeanne Thompson; a son Ford and his wife, Peggy; a daughter, Jeanne and her husband Leonard; two granddaughters, Virginia and her husband Ian, Jacqueline and her husband Allen; a grandson, Ian; four great-grandchildren, Beau, Spring, MaryKate and Maggie Rose; a sister-in-law Elizabeth; many nieces, nephews and friends. She was a member of the American Society of Interior Designers operating her own business, Portfolio of Home Furnishings, for many years. She was a member of the Port Arthur Service League and with her husband Jack, a longtime member of the Port Arthur Yacht Club. After retiring she especially enjoyed playing bridge and time spent with the many new friends she made in the bridge club. The family wishes to thank Harbor Hospice especially Kathy and Fran, Rose House Assisted Living and their staff, a very special and heart felt thank you to Franny Griffin and MeLinda Buller who gave endless hours of service, attention and love to Billee in her final months. A gathering of family and friends is planned for Monday, December 13, 2010 from 5:00p.m.-7:00p.m. at 6541 Ryann Lane, Groves.
