A memorial gathering will begin prior to the service at 1:00 p.m., Monday, July 1, 2024, at Nederland Ave Church of Christ in Nederland.
Born in Dies, Texas, on January 20, 1931, she was the daughter of Webb and Celester Sheffield. Billie was married to the love of her life, Charles “Loyd” Foust Jr. for 34 years before he was called home to heaven. She loved to tell the story of how they met on Aug 14, 1948, were engaged 3 days later, and were married 1 month and 1 day later on Sept 15, 1948 in Kountze, Texas. She was a faithful member of Nederland Ave Church of Christ and could always be found in the same pew, at the same spot, on the left side of the auditorium. Her Christian faith ran deep. She loved her church family and rarely missed a service.
Billie was known for always having a camera ready to capture every moment with her family and friends. Her grandchildren used to give her a hard time about taking pictures, but we are all so grateful that she insisted on recording moments with her family. During the colder months, Billie would spend her free time printing hundreds of pictures and creating multiple picture albums to pass along to her family.
She was also known for being very particular about certain things, especially about her hair! She had a standing appointment on Thursdays to get her hair done. Everyone knew Thursday was her hair day and she was unavailable for anything else. Billie had the cleanest car in the world. Her grandsons got her all worked up one day when they were playing in the backyard. She was convinced they were going to get mud on her car even though her car was safely tucked away in the garage with the garage door down. This was one of the many favorite Grandmother stories we, her grandchildren, like to tell about her. She loved her family fiercely. The grandchildren and great-grandchildren were definitely her pride and joy. She was so proud of each one and always cheered them on.
Billie worked at Beaumont Telco Credit Union for 12 years. She became the Head Teller and was very proud of this accomplishment. In addition to her professional career, Billie had a passion for Christ that brought her peace and solace. She enjoyed watching The Young and the Restless, the Hallmark channel, Wheel of Fortune, and weather updates from Greg Bostwick. She loved going to eat at Casa Ole with her best friends, Ann Quinn and the late Max Quinn, especially on her birthday because she got a free meal.
Billie will be remembered as a loving mother to her children and a grandmother who adored her grandkids. Billie’s warm smile and welcoming spirit touched the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all those whose lives she has impacted.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles “Loyd” Foust Jr.; parents, Webb and Celester Sheffield; and brother Jerry Sheffield.
She is survived by her children, Randy Foust and wife, Laqueta; Regan Foust and wife, Carol; Donna Roberts; 10 grandsons and spouses; 2 granddaughters and spouses; 9 great-grandchildren, sister in-law Cindy Sheffield, and many other loving family and friends.
