Billie Jeane Griner

Billie Jeane Griner of Port Neches, Texas passed away on Friday afternoon December 6th at Clear Lake Regional Hospital in Webster, Texas. She was born an only child to the late Eugene and Bessie Belcher on May 25, 1929 in Kemp, Texas. She later moved to Port Neches where she married the late Willard Robert Griner of Port Neches on August 27, 1955. To that union were born two daughters; Janis Blizzard and Brenda Griner Land. A long-time resident of Port Neches Mrs. Griner worked at Port Neches Groves High School in the Port Neches Groves Independent School District where she retired in 1989 after 23 years of service. Mrs. Griner was actively involved in her community and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Port Neches. Mrs. Griner is survived by her daughter Janis Blizzard and son-in-law Bill Blizzard of Clear Lake, Texas, their two children daughter Savannah Blizzard of Houston, Texas and son Cameron Blizzard of College Station, Texas and her daughter Brenda Griner Land and son-in-law Charles Land of Port Neches, Texas and his daughter Chloe Land. Visitation will be held at Levingston Funeral Home in Port Neches on Tuesday December 10th 2013 from 7:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. Funeral services will commence at Levingston Funeral Home on December 11th at 11:00 A.M. followed by graveside services at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches.

Dead Mrs.Brenda, I'm sorry for your loss. Your mom was a wonderful woman with a heart full of love. Though I knew her for only a little while, she touched my heart greatly. She was a great lady and will be remembered by many people including me. My prayers are with you.

Sorry about Billie -- we worked together at Texas-U.S. Chemical and she had a baby shower at her home in Port Neches for me when I had my daughter 51 years ago. She was a dear friend. I remember her two beautiful girls well.

Mrs Griner was not only Brendas Mom she was our friend when we were growing up. She was always caring and shared her love with anyone around her. I am lucky to have had her as a friend and will miss her dearly. My love and prayers are with her, you and your family Brenda.
