Billy Earl Lavender, Sr. passed away, Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth in Beaumont.Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Thursday, March 28, 2013 at Melancons Funeral Home in Nederland with Rev. Kenny Ray and Pastor Reggie Lloyd officiating. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Nederland. A gathering of the family and friends will be from 5 to 8 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.Mr. Lavender was a native of Little Rock, Arkansas and lived in the Port Neches and Nederland area for 50 years. He was a retired used car dealer and served his country in the U.S. Navy.Mr. Lavender was preceded in death by his sons, Dale Rae Lavender and Donald Lavender, also his Daughter in law, Rachel Lavender. He is survived by his wife, Shirley of Port Neches his sons, Billy Lavender, Jr. and his wife Linda of Nederland, and Sid Lavender of Sour Lake his daughter, Roxanne Ivey and her husband Randy of Oklahoma his grandchildren, Becah and John Butler, Lacey and Jarrod Croaker, Cassie and Dustin Wilkerson, Shantell and Kody Wilson, Dillon Lavender, April and Kevin Lavender, Becca Lavender, Sophie and Lucky. Also three great grandchildren his sisters, Ester Wilson of Vidor, and Elizabeth Marcontell of Kountze his brotherinlaw, Ronnie Parrish and his son Richard of Vidor.In lieu of flowers, an account has been set up at Community Bank of Texas for memorials to be given to help with funeral expenses.
