Billy Joe Hancock, Sr., 75, of Nederland, passed away on January 14, 2014 at Christus Hospital- St. Elizabeth in Beaumont. He was born on July 31, 1938 in Houston, Texas to the late Cloyd Orval and Eva Elizabeth Kerley Hancock. He served proudly in our United States Navy.
Funeral Services will be held at St. John Lutheran Church, 2955 S. Major Drive, Beaumont, TX 77707 on Friday, January 17, 2014 at 2:00 p.m., with Pastor Douglas Rathgeber officiating. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens of Jefferson County in Nederland. A gathering of the family and friends will be held at the church on Thursday, January 16, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Billy is survived by his loving wife, Estella Hancock of Nederland; son, Billy Joe Hancock, Jr. of Nederland; daughters, Maurieta Renee Hodge of Nederland; Dawn Sprinkle and her husband, Ronny of Fannett; grandchildren, Morgan Hodge, Ethan Hancock, Kenzie Hancock, and Carsen Sprinkle; brothers, Randy Hancock and Nolan Hancock; sisters, Karen Holman, Jeanie Chernosky, Ann Mode, Brenda Cook, and Corolita Huddleston; sister-in-laws, Elizabeth Contreras and Linda Torres. He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and one sister.
Memorials may be given to St. John Lutheran Church, 2955 S. Major Drive, Beaumont, TX 77707.
