Blaine Richard Judice

1944 ∼ 2025

Blaine Richard Judice, born in Port Arthur, Texas on November 9, 1944, passed away December 29, 2025 at the age of 81. He was a PNG High School graduate of the class of ’63, beloved barber, devoted family man, and pillar of the community he was raised in as well as where he raised his own family, Groves, Texas.

For more than 60 years, Blaine stood behind his barber’s chair at Blaine’s Barber Shop, not just cutting hair, but building lifelong friendships. To him, the people who sat in his chair were never “clients” — they were friends, neighbors, and extended family. His barbershop was a place of laughter, conversation, and connection, where stories were shared, jokes were told, and everyone felt welcome the moment they walked through the door.

A valued and faithful member of Immaculate Conception-St. Peter the Apostle Parish, the Groves Knights of Columbus-Council 3491, and the ACTS Community, Blaine lived his life guided by service, kindness, and quiet generosity. He believed deeply in community and showed that belief through his actions every day — offering a listening ear, a helping hand, or a perfectly timed joke to brighten someone’s day.

Blaine was honored to serve his community in a variety of ways; as a member of the Groves Chamber of Commerce, the Total Community Committee, and The Optimus Club of Port Arthur, Texas.

Above all, Blaine cherished his family. He was a loving husband, a devoted father, a proud grandfather, a caring son, a loyal brother, and a one-of-a-kind uncle. Some of his happiest moments were spent gathered around the table playing cards with family, laughing, teasing, and creating memories that will be treasured forever.

Known for his quick wit and happy disposition, Blaine had a gift for making people feel at ease. His humor, compassion, and steady presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Blaine is survived by his wife, Rauline Judice, his daughter, Kelly Galloway and her husband, Daniel Galloway, his daughter, Angela Roppolo and her husband, Michael Roppolo, his son Ryan Judice and his wife, Terra Judice, and his grandchildren, Daniel Zachary Galloway and his wife, Caitlin Galloway, Gabrielle Galloway-Towe and her husband, Noah Towe, Isabella Roppolo, Tennleigh Judice, and Gianna Roppolo. He was preceded in death by his mother, Velma Judice, his father, Shelby Judice, and his brother Harlen Judice.

His legacy lives on in the countless lives he touched — through his work, his faith, his friendships, and his love for family. Though his chair may now be empty, his spirit will forever remain in the community he helped shape and the hearts of those who loved him.

In lieu of flowers and plants, Blaine would love for you to donate to the National Kidney Foundation. You can use this link to donate: https://support.kidney.org/campaign/612763/donate

I'm very sorry I missed your funeral Blaine, but I didn't find out until today (February 27, 2026). I remember my last visit at your shop, around Thanksgiving. I will miss you too.

My father took me to get my hair cut at Blaine's Barbershop soon after it opened near Speir's Grocery Store in Groves. Billy Driver cut my hair the first time in the shop. Billy was the second chair in the shop. I was about 8 years old. I'm 68 now. Blaine and Billy were the funniest comedy team in Groves. The Shop was like Cheers with hair on the floor. I left home and got my hair cut by "stylists" but it was never even close to the same. About 15 years ago, I started driving from Beaumont, about once a month, to get Blaine to cut my hair. I will miss him ever so much.

I meet Blaine 2010 after my mother passed away and I moved my Dad to assisted living. I started taking my Dad to Blaine for his haircuts. He would always make my Dad feel happy. As my Dads alzheimer's progressed, and I could no longer take him out, Blaine would go to my dad's room and cut his hair. And never wanted to charge me extra. He was such a blessing to me! Blaine was such a kind heart person may he rest in peace.

Today I went to get my haircut and learned Mr Blaine passed. I am so sorry to have heard this, since my father passed almost 3 yrs ago from complications from strokes as well. Blaine was a great man, and a friendly voice when I needed it, and was always asking how my mom was doing since my dad's passing. I remember him saying he missed the hoghead cheese my dad brought him once, that he ate in one sitting. Going to miss him very much.

Blaine, was a great guy, very funny, and very personable I would even say that he was one of Groves's icons. Everyone in the Groves community knew Blaine. He was my two boys first barber. He was very kind and patient with little kids. Rauline was my first friend in PTA, which says a lot about their family ethics. We will be praying for you guys. He will be greatly missed by a lot of friends and family.

I’ve known Blaine for a long time. I took my son, Chris when he was 2 to get his first haircut from Mr. Blaine. No one but Blaine could cut his hair at the barber shop. My kids went to school with Angela and Ryan. We were youth advisors in CYO together. He was a true man of God. I went to their house many of times to play games. We’ve been to camp with friends. He told me a joke or two every time I saw him. We’ve had some truly good times together that I will treasure forever. I love you Blaine and will miss you dearly.

Blaine was my next door neighbor for 31 yrs. And also my barber. He and his family were great neighbors. So many found memories of talking across the backyard fence and ribbing each other. Blaine’s death is a great loss to the community and I’ll cherish the memories of him. May Blaine’s family be blessed at this time with peace and the lifelong memories of him.

Blaine was a great guy, and I was proud to have him as a friend, and as my barber. I enjoyed the visits to his shop, and being part of the conversations with him and Bill Driver, who passed away years ago. The atmosphere over there was one of camaraderie, and I certainly miss both of them. Keeping Blaine’s family in thoughts and prayers. RIP, Blaine. Godspeed, my friend!

As a neighbor to Mr. Judice, we are sad of his passing here at the Landry household. Growing up as a child coming to visit my Grandmother and would go over there to play with Ryan and others in the backyards that all connected. When sitting outside on the porch he would honk and wave as he was coming or going. My Dad would go get his hair cuts from him and they would discuss things about the neighborhood from when they moved in until his passing in 2017. Mr. Judice will surely be missed around here, may his family be blessed and watched over.

Blaine holds a special place in my heart for many reasons. He always had a smile on his face and interesting stories to tell. I told my family that I visited Blaine’s because I got a haircut and a “show” for one low price. Thanks to Blaine’s persistence I finally attended an ACTS Retreat in 2022. It was a life changing event that still brings tears to eyes as I type this message. My condolences to the family. I love you Brother. Rest in Peace my friend. 🙏

I grew up knowing Mr. Judice at church and seeing him work at KC functions. Always someone that spoke to you by name, and had a huge smile on his face. One of my memories of Mr. Judice is when I started driving my Dad to get his hair cut at the barber shop. I dropped Dad off and gave him a tip to give to him, when I picked Dad up he got back in my car and said Blaine said he wasn't going to take this and for Dad to use on his next haircut! He definitely had a true servants golden heart! Fly high Mr. Judice 😇🙏🏻
