It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Bobby Ray Judice, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, who left this world on July 30, 2026, at the age of 89. Bobby passed away peacefully.
Born on November 30, 1936, in the charming community of Breaux Bridge, Louisiana, Bobby was the son of Hazel and Jacque Delhomme. Spending summers on his grandparents’ farm (Louis and Elbe Granger) instilled the values of hard work, loyalty, and kindness—principles he carried with him throughout his life. He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Hazel Judice, his son, Bobby Ray Judice, Jr., and his brother, Irby Judice, whom he now joins in eternal rest.
Bobby worked for the Kansas City Southern Railroad as a switchman for 38 years. Beyond his career, he was a passionate horseman, sharing a bond with his brother, Irby, as they trained racehorses, a pastime that brought him immense joy and companionship. He was known to many as "Tex" due to his sporting western shirts with a bolo, cowboy hat and boots. A proud veteran, Bobby served in the Marine Reserves for 8 years, an experience that solidified his character.
A devout member of Little Flower Church in Port Acres, Bobby attended Mass every Sunday and prayed the Rosary daily.
Bobby shared his life with his beloved wife, Sandy Newsome Judice, for 64 years. Together they built a legacy of love and resilience, raising two sons, Mark Judice (Kim) and Steven Judice (JoAnne), who continue to carry forward the enduring values instilled in them by their father.
He was a grandfather to four grandsons —Blake, Brady, Colten, and Bronson Judice (Fallan) and a great-grandfather to little Merrick. Bobby's legacy of love and laughter will live on in their hearts. His family was his greatest pride. He always had a story to tell and bestowed his wisdom upon his grandchildren at every opportunity.
He leaves behind a brother, Jackdale Delhomme, of Breaux Bridge, LA, several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of the caregivers that helped Bobby during this time. Special thanks to Jennifer and Tracie of Heart-to-Heart Hospice, Barbara of Bonne Vie, and Rita, who assisted Bobby.
A celebration of his life will be held at Little Flower Catholic Church in Port Acres, on Monday, August 17. A visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. A funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. May Bobby rest in peace, his spirit forever watching over those he loved.
