Bobbie Sue Oleksy

Bobbie Sue Oleksy, 81, of Nederland, passed away on Friday, July 19, 2013 at Mid Jefferson Hospital in Nederland.

She was born in Sabine, Texas on June 6, 1932 to the late Capt. Howard John Gray and Annie Johnson Gray. Bobbie lived in the area her entire life and attended First United Methodist Church in Nederland for 61 years. She was a 1950 graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School in Port Arthur. Bobbie was a food service employee for 28 years at Highland Park Elementary School in Nederland.

Funeral service will be held in the chapel at Melancon Funeral Home, 1605 Avenue H, Nederland, on Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at 10:00 a.m., Rev. Toney Miller officiating, with burial to follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Monday, July 22, 2013 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Emil Oleksy, Sr.; son, Emil Oleksy, Jr. of Nederland; son, Matt Wayne Oleksy and wife Sarah, of Hannibal, Missouri; grandson, Thomas Emil Oleksy and wife Amber of Port Neches; granddaughter Tamara Oleksy Gallagher and husband Clinton of Forney, Texas.

Bobbie is preceded in death by her parents and sister Betty Siau.

Memorial donation may be directed to the First United Methodist Church in Nederland.
