Bobbie Jean Russo October 20th 1950 June 14th 2012 Our beloved mother, sister and friend, Bobbie Jean Birdwell Russo, 61, returned to her father in heaven on June 14, 2012. She was surrounded by loved ones when she passed and she was finally relieved from severe ailments that caused so much pain and suffering. She was born October 20, 1950 to Francis Marion and Daisy Mae Birdwell in Lufkin, Texas. Bobbie attended Pt. Neches-Groves High School. She grew up loving school and listening to her record player. She loved to read and share what she had learned with others. There was never a safe book at a garage sale that was not going to be brought home. She loved learning and had a great knowledge of so many topics. She attended Lamar University and also completed many online university classes. Bobbie was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and was engaged in serving others continually. She was a wonderful woman who never met a stray soul, person, or animal in need that she would not help. She had so many friends and family she helped over the years through giving advice, counsel, or financial assistance. Serving and helping others was so important to her and she taught her children by example. Family was very dear and she delighted in her children and grandchildren. When she could not be with them she would send letters to express her love and stay connected. We will miss her and think of her often, always trying to live up to her example of service and never letting her legacy fade. We find comfort in knowing she has returned to her heavenly home. Bobbie is survived by 1 sister Doris Roddy (Vidor), 4 children and 14 grandchildren. Francis and Shiela Gibson of Mapleton, UT: children Kendrik, Peyton, Cameron, and Carter, Brian and Sondra Gibson of Nederland, TX: children Roxxanne, Genesis, Alice', and Bradley, Matthew and Kristine Gibson of Springville, UT: children Jaclynn and Kamri, Ryan and Towanda Price of Frisco, TX: children Trenton, Trevor, Tyler and a baby girl on the way.
