Bobby Dean Grafton

1932 ∼ 2015

Bobby Dean Grafton, 83, of Port Neches, TX passed away on 12-24-2015. After a two year battle with cancer he entered the Gates of Heaven to be with his Lord and Savior. He died in the comfort of his home with family by his side. Bob was born on March 6, 1932 in Bernice, LA to John Walter and Alsie Grafton. After graduating high school in 1951 he served 2 years in the US Army during the Korean Conflict, serving in France. After leaving the Army, he attended Louisiana Tech in Ruston, LA before being employed by DuPont Beaumont Works in Southeast Texas in 1957. He worked at DuPont for 37 years as a Lab Analyst before retiring in 1993. Bob was a member of First Baptist Church, Groves, TX. During his lifetime he served the Lord as a Deacon ordained by Pisgah Baptist in Bernice, LA at the age of 25. He also served in many other ways such as church choir, soul winning/visitation, Sunday School Teacher and transportation to church for children and senior adults. Bob enjoyed playing 42, fishing, hunting, gardening, camping and traveling. Bob and his wife, Bonnie were full time RV'ers for over 10 years. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, 4 sisters, and 2 brothers. He is survived by his wife, Bonnie of 53 years and his sons, Kelly Grafton and wife, Karen of N. Myrtle Beach, SC and Deron Grafton of Hammond, LA, one sister, Rubye Taylor and husband, Boyd of El Dorado, AR and one brother, Billy Grafton and wife, JoAnn of Farmerville, LA, brother-in-law Gerald Cook and wife, Peggy of Nederland, TX and a host of nieces and nephews. A visitation for family and friends will be Tuesday, December 29, 2015 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves. Funeral services will be Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at 3:00 Wednesday at Simpson Cemetery, Nacogdoches, TX. Kelley was a childhood friend of mine and neighbor in Nederland. I want to send you my condolencses and prayers for your Family. I lost my father a few years ago and one thing that eased the sadness was to know he is in a greater place and wouldn't come back here if he could. Take it easy Kelley.
