Bobby D. McGuire, 78, of Groves died Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at Christus St. Mary Hospital in Port Arthur, Texas. He was born on March 29, 1934 in Port Arthur, Texas to Everett McGuire and Lura Mansker McGuire. Bobby was a lifelong resident of this area and a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Groves. He worked as a maintenance mechanic for Dupont until his retirement in 1992 after thirty years of service and was also a graduate of East Texas Baptist College . Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 13, 2012 at Friendship Baptist Church in Groves with Reverend Travis Cox officiating and Reverend Michael Stone assisting. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park. A visitation for family and friends will be Friday evening from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves. Bobby was preceded in death by his first wife, June Webb McGuire and his brother, Larry McGuire. He is survived by his wife, Edith "Edie" McGuire of Groves, daughter, Kim Lopez of Groves, son, Wes McGuire and wife, Mary of Groves, two step daughters, Denise Stone and husband, Michael of Canton, and Debbie Bergeron and husband, Scott of Port Neches, step son, Jimmy Ward and wife, Heidi of Groves, sister, Peggy Morgan of Groves, thirteen grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

My prayers go out to Bobby and his entire family. I have known Bobby since 1973 when my parents and I moved across the street from him, June, Kim and Wes.
