Bonifacio "Bocho" Soto Rodríguez, de 88 años, de Port Arthur, Texas, falleció pacíficamente el 28 de febrero de 2025 en Harbor Hospice en Beaumont. Nacido el 27 de mayo de 1936 en México, Bocho dedicó gran parte de su vida a la ganadería en su tierra natal antes de mudarse a los Estados Unidos, donde luego se retiró como soldador del astillero.

A lo largo de su vida, Bocho se destacó por su comportamiento amigable; Tenía una notable capacidad para conectarse con los demás y nunca conoció a un extraño. Su cálida personalidad y su espíritu amable le hicieron querer a muchos, convirtiéndolo en una figura querida en su comunidad.

Bonifacio "Bocho" Soto Rodriguez, 88, of Port Arthur, Texas, passed away peacefully on February 28, 2025, at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont. Born on May 27, 1936, in Mexico, Bocho dedicated much of his life to his ranching pursuits in his homeland before moving to the United States, where he later retired as a welder from the shipyard.

Throughout his life, Bocho was known for his friendly demeanor; he had a remarkable ability to connect with others and never met a stranger. His warm personality and kind spirit endeared him to many, making him a beloved figure in his community.

His pride and joy were his family. Bocho is survived by his children, Miguel Angel Soto, Juan Soto and his wife, Mari Carmen Soto, Ariel Soto, and Maria Jaime and her husband, Alvaro Jaime. His legacy continues through his grandchildren, Jennifer, Yarely, Nelly, and Javel, as well as his great grandchild, Karely. He also leaves behind his sisters, Maria de la Cruz Leija and Rosalinda Aguire.

Bocho had a deep appreciation for reading, often indulging in cowboy novels and magazines, which reflected his love for the stories of the rugged individualism he admired. His family cherished not only the time spent together but also the values he instilled in them.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Manuel Soto and Maria Rodriguez, and his beloved wife of 51 years, Maria de la Paz Pina, brothers, Florencio Soto, Jose Soto, Santana Soto, Mauro Soto, and Manuel Soto.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones for a visitation on Sunday, March 2, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Melancon Levingston Funeral Home located at 1605 Avenue H, Nederland, TX 77627.

Bocho will be remembered not just for his accomplishments and contributions but for the love he shared with his family and the kindness he showed to all who knew him. His spirit will live on in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
