Bonita Jo “Tootie” Fischer, 60, of Port Neches, TX passed away October 3, 2015 at her residence. She was born January 12, 1955, Port Arthur, TX to the late George Fischer, Sr. and Bonnie Goodwin Fischer.

She was an avid PN-G Indians fan and loved her Astros and Cowboys, as well.

She is survived by her son, Kevin Fischer of Nederland; sister, Martha “Murf” LaLonde of Nederland; 2 nieces and 1 nephew; numerous great-nieces and nephews. Bonita was preceded in death by her brother George “Butch” Fischer, Jr.

A gathering of family and friends will be Friday, October 9, 2015 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, October 10, 2015 at 10 a.m., also at Melancon’s Funeral Home. Pastor Francis Schroeder officiating. Interment to follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches.

Kevin, my prayers are with you and the rest of the family. Tootie is definitely someone I will never forget. I remember when she gave my daughter a kitten for her birthday, even though I said I didn't think we needed a pet. My thoughts and prayers are with all of yall while you make this journey of saying goodbye to such a wonderful person. Tootie was one of a kind. There are very few people like her in this world and it was a blessing to have known and loved her. From the time she took her first breath down to her last the world was a better place for her being in it. RIP Toot Dawg. You will be truly missed and always loved.
