Bonnie Jeanne Richard, 62, of Groves, Texas passed away on Friday, March 20, 2015 at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. She was born on January 5, 1953 in Port Neches to the late Stanley Talbot and Mary McBride. Bonnie was a lifelong resident of the area, and was also a current Science Teacher for Port Neches-Groves Independent School District.

Bonnie is survived by her daughter, Jana Riley and her husband, Thomas of Groves; son, Brad Richard and his wife, Rachel of Groves; sisters, Myrna McDonald of Newton, Linda Mason of Nederland, and Mary Kay Thigpen of LaBelle; brother, Jerry Talbot of Houston; and four grandchildren, Grace Richard, Owen Riley, Reid Richard, and Olivia Richard. She is preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Donnie Richard.

A Memorial Service will be held at Golden Triangle Church on the Rock in Beaumont on Saturday, March 28, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor Michael Dorcet officiating.

My friend, sounding board, co-worker and partner in crime. I will miss her very much. She was loved and respected by those who knew her. In one of our conversations, after she was sick, her greatest concern was not for herself, but for her children. She was upset that her children were having to go through this experience, especially because they had already experienced an enormous loss last year. Her thoughts were always of her family first. She loved them more than anything or anyone else on this earth.

Mrs. Richard was my science teacher 5 years ago. She was such a fun teacher and I really enjoyed her class. When I heard she was sick I made plans to come by her house with brownies (an inside joke we had). I was supposed to run by in a few weeks to drop them off and talk to her, I really wish I hadn't waited. She was an amazing teacher and is very loved. Prayers and love to her family.
