Bonnie Jean Snelson, 73, of Port Neches, Texas passed away Friday, June 12, 2020, at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital of Beaumont. Bonnie was born October 31, 1946 in Jasper, Texas to the late George and Wilma Stanaland. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Port Neches and retired from Port Neches Independent School District after 10 years of service as the custodian. Bonnie loved listening to Christian music, dancing and watching movies. She enjoyed playing and walking her dog, Beaux. Bonnie’s grandchildren and great grandchildren were her joy and she loved spending every minute with them.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, George Dave Stanaland and Wilma Louise Watson Stanaland; grandson, Cody Allen Guidry; sister, Eva Louise Cloud.
She leaves behind her daughters, Eyvette Standley and her husband, David; Jennifer Guidry and her husband, Chris; son, Bubba Snelson; grandchildren, Clinton Standley and his wife, Jacol; Janelle Standley; Jordan Guidry and his wife, Madyson; Travis Guidry, Brittany Snelson Hebert and her husband, Jerry; great grandchildren, Alicia Standley, Colton Standley, Zaiden Hebert, Sawyer Hebert, J.J. Martinez; brother, Charlie Stanaland and his wife, Vickie to cherish her memory.
A gathering of friends and relatives will be held Tuesday, June 16, 2020 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., with the service to begin at 1:00 p.m., at Melancon’s Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Memory Garden’s Cemetery.
