Braxton Elroy Socia, 63, of Groves, Texas passed away Tuesday, March 4, 2014. He was born in Orange, Texas on March 16, 1950 to the late Raymond E. Socia, Sr. and Eula Eloise Yelverton. He was a member of Abundant Life Sanctuary United Pentecostal Church.

Funeral services will be held at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland on Saturday, March 8, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. David Myer and Rev. Joseph Reynolds officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday, March 7, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Braxton is preceded in death by his parents; daughters, Glynn Pauline Socia and Donna Jean Alvina Socia; and granddaughter, Courtney Socia. He is survived by his sons, Braxton Elroy Socia, Jr. and Brandon Wilson Socia, both of Groves; daughter, Tonya Pauline Socia of Groves; sisters, Alvina Reynolds of Nederland; Lera Carlos of Groves, and Jacque Boyd of Bridge City; brother, Raymond Socia of Groves; grandchildren, Justin Socia, Baylor Reynolds, Shannon Socia, Jaymi Shelnut, Harley Socia, Trenton Socia, and Brooklyn Socia; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and close friends.

Daddy, I constantly think of you. I miss you a whole bunch. I still think you will be there when I want to come see you, I just felt like I havent talked to you in a while. My heart is broken. I really miss you, and I WILL succeed, and make you proud. You have always been there for me you are so wise, and funny there wasnt a question I could adj you wouldn't know the answer to you were my rock through all this pain, now I have to handle this alone. Thank God, you taught me and raised me well. I have a very strong heart/mind... all thanks to my daddy rest peacefully now.

I am sorry for the families loss of Braxton. When I think of Braxton I have to laugh. He was the funniest guy I knew! I have many memories of him and all were funny. I know he will be missed by all that loved him. I haven't seen Braxton in many many years but the memories are never dim of him. My prayers go out to his family.
