      Brenda L. Davis, 84, of Port Arthur, Texas, passed away on Thursday, January 2, 2025. Born on July 30, 1940, in Port Arthur, she led a life full of independence and adventure, marked by her unyielding spirit and passion for exploring the world around her.

      Brenda dedicated 35 years of her life to serving her community as an x-ray technician. She was also a certified electro cardiographer, occupational hearing technician and trained in pulmonary testing. Her commitment to healthcare left a lasting impact on many lives, showcasing her compassionate nature and unwavering work ethic. After her retirement, Brenda embraced her love for travel, embarking on adventures with her beloved husband, which included a memorable journey to Alaska in their RV.

      In her earlier years, Brenda enjoyed activities that brought her joy and excitement, such as hunting, riding horses, and being a motorcycle enthusiast. She had a zest for life that was contagious, inspiring those around her to pursue their passions with similar enthusiasm. Brenda was also a proud member of Grace Baptist Church in Groves, where she found a sense of community and belonging.

      Brenda is survived by her stepdaughter, Desireé Davis; grandchildren, Brandi Osborne and her husband Wes, Daniel Sanchez and his wife Casey, and Adam Sanchez; as well as five great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She is also remembered fondly by her sister, Lora Simpson and her husband Mike of Bridge City; and her brother-in-law, Bobby Parker; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.

      She was preceded in death by her parents, Virginia (McCoy) Levine and Alex G. Levine; her husband, Rayburn Davis; and her sisters, Beverly Parker and Joyce Thornton. Brenda's legacy will live on in the hearts of those who loved her, cherished her adventurous spirit, and admired her strength.

      A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a Funeral Service at 11:00 AM, both taking place at Melancon Levingston Funeral Home in Groves located at 5601 39th St, Groves, TX 77619. Interment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches.

      Brenda L. Davis will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her life was a testament to living boldly and loving deeply, leaving a lasting impact on her family and friends.

      Brenda’s family would like to thank the caregivers at Rosefield Court, Lizete Ellis and all the caregivers with Lizete’s Loving Care, her hospice nurse Felicia Dobie and all of the staff at Stonewood Hospice for caring for Brenda. The family would also like to thank Barbara Anderson for being her long-time caregiver and friend.

Loved Brenda. She was born one day before I was also in Port Arthur. We were close friends in elementary school. Prayers for her close friends and family for comfort.
