Brenda Johnson LeBlanc

1953 ∼ 2025

Brenda Alexander Johnson LeBlanc, 71, of Port Arthur, Texas, passed away on March 17, 2025.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ladner Dale Alexander and Iris Christine Crawford Alexander.

Brenda is survived by her devoted husband of 43 years, Robert "Bobby" LeBlanc, as well as her loving children: Brenda Ann Harris, Jacob Johnson and wife Jessica, Caleb Johnson and wife Amber, and Chris Leblanc and wife Dodie. She was a proud Meme to Talan Johnson and Layla Blakeman, Cash Johnson, Nicholas Powell and wife Shae, Dominic Etenburn, Corvin Johnson, Zackery Garcia and Hannah Dudley, Jake Pruiett & Jasslyn Pruiett. She was also blessed with great-grandchildren, including Willow, Juniper, Chase, Bentley, & Anthony, along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

As the eldest of six siblings, Brenda took her role to heart from early on. She is survived by her brothers and sisters: Jean Ballard and husband Willie, Vicky Meyer and husband Gery, Kenneth Alexander and wife Nancy, Toni Alexander, and Terry Alexander and wife Angela.

Brenda was a storyteller at heart, filling every conversation with memories from her life—each one complete with a date, season, and location. She could never finish a funny story without bursting into laughter first.

She was a firecracker—outspoken, unfiltered, and never afraid to tell it like it was. Her candor kept everyone on their toes, and while she could be difficult at times, those who knew her best understood that her toughness was matched by an even greater love. She was fiercely loyal and would give the world to those she cared about.

Brenda had a deep love for Elvis, Christmas, and above all, her family. She especially cherished watching her grandsons play sports, with baseball being her favorite. No matter the game, if they were playing, she was cheering them on.

Though she faced hardships—some that no one should ever have to endure—she lived life fully, with passion and determination. She was fiercely protective of her family, and while her struggles sometimes made her seem tough or difficult to understand, her love ran deeper than words could express. If your world was falling apart, she would do everything in her power to hold it together for you. Her fierce love, infectious laughter, and fiery spirit will forever be missed.

A celebration of Brenda’s life will be held on Sunday, March 30, 2025, at Melancon Funeral Home in Nederland, Texas. Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM, followed by the Memorial Service at 2:00 PM. We invite all those who knew and loved Brenda to join us in remembering her vibrant spirit, her enduring love for her family, and the countless memories she leaves behind. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that arrangements be sent to Melancon Funeral Home.

I learned SOO much about baseball through you. You kept your own books throughout every single game. You knew every strike, every ball, every position and who filled it, the lineups for both home and visitor side. You were literally the queen of the baseball team. If I didn’t understand a call or a play, you knew it and explained it. This was just one of the many reasons I always enjoyed sitting next to you. (I really enjoyed your stories too 😉)The love you had for baseball and watching your son and grandsons on the field was beautiful. You not only loved them but the other boys on the team as well. Especially my CJ. You loved him dearly!!! Thank you for always staying in touch with me through out the years even after our baseball days sadly came to an end. You had asked for an invitation to CJs graduation and I am still going to send you one. Rest easy now. We will miss you and forever love you. Love, Ashley and CJ

I'll never be able to hear the music we shared without wanting to sweep you up and dance with you. There is 43 years of music that will forever remind me of my "Genger Rogers" Love you Toots, your Fred Astaire

Brenda and I were partners in crime for all our adult lives. We spent countless hours talking and laughing. We were nothing alike yet we were best of friends. We went on many excursions together and experienced many good times. We could always count on each other no matter what. She helped me and taught me many things in my life. I will forever be at a loss for she was a sister to me and always told me that since I was young. Through all my life’s ups and downs I knew who to call. In all my life she never did anything but love and protect me. I will miss her with all my heart. God Bless sister.
