Byron Anton Holberg, 92, of Port Arthur, Texas passed away Wednesday, March 24, 2010 at Christus St. Mary Hospital. Byron was born on June 9, 1917 in Port Arthur, Texas to Anton F. Holberg and Edith Hollifield Holberg. He was a lifelong area resident and retired from Gulf refinery as a supervisor in the packaging and grease department. He was a 33rd Degree Knight and Past Master of Port Arthur Cosmopolitan Masonic Lodge #872; also a member of the Shrine, Knights of Templar and Red Cross of Constantine. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 27, 2010 at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves, Texas. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday evening from 6:30p.m.-8:30p.m.at the funeral home. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bernice; brothers, Joe Holberg and Robert Holberg. Survivors include his daughter, Toni Holberg Noble and husband, Noel of Houston, TX; son, Jeff Holberg and wife, Kathy of Bastrop, TX; sister, Ruth Ann Darder and husband, Henry of Bridge City, TX; four grandchildren, Lisa Noble , Clay Holberg , Jennifer Flood and husband, Steven all of Austin, TX; one great-granddaughter, Lilia Flood.
