Candy G. Koenig

1946 ∼ 2026

Candy G. Koenig

Our dear Candy Koenig, a cherished wife, loving mother, and adored grandmother, peacefully left us on July 15, 2026, just shy of her 80th birthday. Born on July 21, 1946, Candy filled her life and ours with warmth, devotion, and boundless love. She leaves behind her devoted husband of 53 years, Frederick Martin Koenig of Port Neches, and her loving son, William "Will" Koenig, also of Port Neches.

Candy truly knew how to embrace life, finding joy in so many things. She loved the open sea, and many happy memories were made on the memorable cruises she enjoyed. Her artistic spirit shone through her beautiful paintings, and she found quiet contentment in the challenge of jigsaw and word puzzles. Candy had a special place in her heart for animals, often dedicating her time to rescuing young creatures in need, giving them a second chance at life. She was also a loyal friend, actively helping with and attending her high school class functions, and lovingly maintaining connections with her surviving classmates. For a decade, she dedicated her skills to operations at Sun Pipe Line, a testament to her commitment and work ethic.

But perhaps her greatest joy came from her beloved grandchildren, Laklyn Cheyenne Koenig and Gracelyn Lee Koenig. They were the light of her life, and she cherished every moment spent with them, creating a legacy of love and treasured memories that will be held dear by all who knew her.

Candy was welcomed home by her beloved parents, William F. and Ester Mae “Zip” Gill and sister, Karen "Honey" Gill, who preceded her in death. Her gentle spirit, loving nature, and the immense joy she brought to her family and friends will be deeply missed and forever cherished in our hearts.

We will celebrate Candy's beautiful life with a visitation on July 28, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Melancon Levingston Funeral Home, 2001 Nall Street, Port Neches, Texas. A committal service will follow at 11:15 a.m. at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches, Texas, where she will be laid to rest.
