Obituary

Captain Lorenzo McCoy, 89, of Nederland passed away on Saturday, November 9, 2013 at his residence. He was born on June 25, 1924 in Guanaja Bay Islands, Spanish Honduras to the late Dodoe McCoy and Rosa McCoy. He was a retired merchant marine and was a member of the Groves Community Seventh Day Adventist Church.

Funeral Services will be held at Melancon’s Funeral Home, 1605 Avenue H in Nederland on Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Monday, November 11, 2013 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Lorenzo is survived by numerous nieces and nephews; and long-time friend Joy Repczynski. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Koreen McCoy; and sister, Winnie Wood.
