Capt. Joseph Neuman, 87, of Nederland, Texas passed away Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at his home. He was born in Shell Lake, Wisconsin on March 31, 1926 to the late August and Anna Feipel Neuman. Joseph was a retired captain with Master Mate’s and Pilots with 40 years of service and served his country proudly in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland on Monday, November 4, 2013 with Father Stephen McCrate officiating. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Monday, November 4th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Joseph is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Valerie Todd Neuman of Nederland; his daughter, Beth Boren and husband, Charles of Nederland; his son, Joseph W. Neuman of North Fort, Virginia; his sister, Ginny Edward of Kent, Washington; and his brothers, Leo Neuman of Rice Lake, Wisconsin and Gene Neumann of Minneapolis, Minnesota.
