Carl Wayne Clayton

Carl Wayne Clayton, 61, of Nederland, Texas passed away Sunday, January 21, 2018 at the Baptist Hospital in Beaumont, Texas. Carl was born on November 7, 1956 in Bristow, Oklahoma to the late Clarence and Velva Miller Clayton. He worked for Mobil Pipeline Company and then ExxonMobil Pipeline Company for 35 years as a mechanic and then as a supervisor. Simultaneously, he was a soccer coach for 20 years in Midland, Texas and then in southeast Texas, during which time he coached both of his sons along with hundreds of other kids. Carl enjoyed fishing, hunting, traveling, hiking in the outdoors, spending time with his family and watching his grandchildren do what they love. Carl was a Deacon for First Baptist Church in Nederland, Texas.

Carl is survived by his wife, Cheryl Baker Clayton of Nederland; his sons, Rowdy Clayton and his wife, Melanie of Nederland and Ryder Clayton and his wife, Meagan of Sunnyvale, California; his grandchildren, Rhett Clayton, Cadence Clayton, and a future grandchild in May; his brothers, Glen Clayton of Huntington Beach, California, and Roy Lee Clayton and his wife, Leona of Wilson, Oklahoma; and by numerous loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents; and sisters, Grace Clayton, Clara Belle Sparks, and Nadine Clayton.
