Carlton “Buddy” Edward Evans, 76, passed away on Wednesday, June 8, 2022, at his home in Groves, Texas.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 14, 2022, at Grace Baptist Church in Groves. Officiating will be Dr. Phil Sigman. Burial will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, June 13, 2022 at Grace Baptist Church in Groves.
Carlton was born in Van Zandt County, Texas, on December 11, 1945. He was the son of Ellis Evans and Ruth Leach Evans. Carlton was a machinist at Texaco for 17 years and worked with the Jefferson County Sheriff Department for 24 years. He was a member of Groves Masonic Lodge #1315 for over 40 years. He has shared his love for God since he was 13 years old. Carlton was a resident of the City of Groves for 55 years.
He was preceded in death by his son, Chris; his sister, Peggy Culpepper; and brother, Vernon Evans.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Blackwell Evans; daughters, Tonya Jones of Groves, Carla Mason and husband Jody of Labelle, and Tammy Estrada of Groves; sisters, Debbie Hatchel and husband Ricky of Longview, and Sharon Robicheaux and husband Lucas of Humble; brothers, Donald Evans of Yantis, Bob Evans and wife Ruth of Hondo, and David Evans of Willis Point; and grandchildren, Tony Morciglio, Amber Stelly, Joey Stelly and wife Brandy, Linda Esqueda, Brittany Clark, Chelsea Jones, Shelby Harrington and her husband Blake, Chelsea Rone and her husband Aaron, and Matthew Mason; and great-grandchildren, Tyler, Skyler, Amberlynn, Braelynn, Madalynn, Bella, Sophia, Giovanni, Cindy, Breanna, Angel, Zoey, Levi, Addie, Caspian, Murphy, Morgan, and Brenklee.
Serving as pallbearers will be Shawn Blackwell, Brent Blackwell, Jody Mason, Joey Stelly, Gary Blackwell, and Chad Schwaab. Honorary pallbearers will be Tony Morciglio, Skyler Giles, and Tyler Giles.
