Carol Paslean

June 24, 1935 — December 31, 2024

Port Neches

Carol Paslean, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on Tuesday, December 31, 2024, at Collier Park Assisted Living in Beaumont, Texas. Born on June 24, 1935, in Fort Worth, Texas, Carol lived a life filled with love, compassion, and service to others.

Her educational journey culminated in a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, which she earned from Russell Sage College in Troy, New York, in 1957. This accomplishment set the foundation for a dedicated career as a Registered Nurse. Prior to relocating with her family to Groves, Texas in the 1960s, Carol began her nursing career in New York state. In Texas, she continued to serve her community at Park Place Hospital in Port Arthur, TX, and later at Jefferson Chemical, which eventually became Texaco Chemical in Port Neches, TX.

Carol was not only a committed healthcare professional; she was also a pillar of her community. A long-time member of the First Baptist Church of Port Neches, she cherished her time spent in Bible study, where her strong faith and loving nature shone brightly. Carol's warm and caring spirit endeared her to everyone around her, and she was never shy about expressing her love of God.

Outside of her professional life, Carol had a deep appreciation for the arts. She showcased her talents as a skilled painter, excelling in both tole painting and Dresden china painting. Her creativity and passion for art enriched her life and the lives of those who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Family was central to Carol's life. After retiring, she devoted her time to nurturing her family and actively participating in her sons' activities, which included cub scouts, boy scouts, and the PTA. She shared a loving bond with her children, Michael Paslean and Jason Paslean.

Carol is survived by her devoted sons, Michael Paslean and his wife, Sherri of Port Neches, TX, and Jason Paslean and his wife, Lesley of Kennewick, WA. Carol also cherished her role as a grandmother to her three granddaughters: Hannah, Paige, and Isabel Paslean, who brought immense joy into her life. She is also remembered by her brother, Thomas Skelton and his wife, Eve, of Colorado; and her dear friend, Linda Rutty.

Carol was preceded in death by her husband, James Paslean; her parents, William and Eleanor Skelton; her sister, Joan Skelton; and her infant grandson, Christopher Paslean.

As we reflect on Carol Paslean's remarkable life, we remember her warmth, compassion, and unwavering spirit. She leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue to inspire her family and all who were fortunate enough to know her.
