Carole Lynn Wilson Peet, 87, the matriarch of our family, joined her departed loved ones in Heaven on November 22, 2022.
Gran was born on June 17, 1935, a middle child in Mabel and Clint Wilson’s brood of six kids. She graduated from Vidor High School, where she met the love of her life, James Delbert Peet. Gran and Pappy were married June 8,1953 and enjoyed 65 years of happiness together prior to JD’s passing. The Peets resided in Port Neches with their three children, Lynn, Jeri, and James Delbert Jr.
Gran, an administrative assistant, retired from the Local OCAW in Beaumont. A woman of steadfast faith, she was a member of Paradise Primitive Baptist Church in Port Neches.
Gran was a good cook, famous for her doughnuts and cheese biscuits. She could rock any baby to sleep and once that baby was in her arms, nobody better try to take it back! Gran was always beautifully turned out, from her ensemble to her perfectly coiffed white hair. And she never went without lipstick! Gran’s sense of humor, her strength in adversity, her love of family endeared her to all of us. We will always miss her, but our sweet memories of Gran will remain with us forever.
Visitation for our beloved Gran will be held at Levingston Funeral Home in Port Neches at 10 AM on November 29, 2022, followed by the service at 11:00 AM. Entombment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park.
She was preceded in death by both parents; siblings, CJ Wilson, Mickey Wilson, and Janie Alvarado; son, JD Peet Jr.; granddaughter, Marlee Floyd Willingham; and great-grandson, Welles William Dyson.
She is survived by her brothers, Don and Terry Wilson; daughters, Lynn Keeney and Jeri Floyd; grandchildren, Jillian Hunt, Hunter Keeney, Erin Dyson, and Madison Floyd; and great-grandchildren, Jackson and Lillian Hunt, Alice and Layla Keeney, and Ana, Blake, and Betty Dyson.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Carole's caregiver, Brittany Young.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Carole’s memory may be made to the Port Neches Senior Center.
