Carolyn Akers Carolyn Akers, 70, of Port Arthur died Friday, January 14, 2011 at Memorial Hermann Hospital in Beaumont, TX. She was born in Fort Worth, Texas on September 15, 1940 to Charles C. Rutherford, Sr. and Maxine Biggerstaff Rutherford. Carolyn had lived in this area for 13 years and was a member of First United Methodist Church in Nederland. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves with Reverend Malcolm Monroe officiating. A visitation for family and friends will be Monday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Graveside services will be in Restland Cemetery in Dallas, Texas on Wednesday, January 19, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Akers. She is survived by her daughter, Susan Schreiber of Wichita, KS.; son, Todd Akers and wife, Anita of Nederland, TX.; brother, Cal Rutherford and wife, Verna of Port Arthur, TX.; seven grandchildren, Christina Powell, Charles Lee Akers, Jenny Akers, Victoria Lindsey, Rebecca Freeze, Daniel Akers, and Rachel Akers and seven great grandchildren.
