Carolyn Mitchell Belk, 81, of Port Neches, Texas died Friday, October 19, 2012 at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont, Texas. Carolyn as born December 6, 1930 in Port Arthur, Texas to George Gilbert Mitchell and Olive Laney Hawthorne Mitchell. She was a lifelong resident of this area and a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church in Port Neches. Funeral services will be held Monday, October 22, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Levingston Funeral Home in Port Neches with Rev. Margaret Desmond officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park. Visitation for family and friends will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday, October 21, 2012 at the funeral home. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, James Melvin Belk. Surviving relatives include her daughters, Kathy Parent and husband Fred of Groves, Texas; Judy Belk and husband Dave Smith of Beach City, Texas; sons, Doug Belk of Beach City, Texas; Jim Belk of Port Neches, Texas; brothers, Bill Mitchell and wife June; Charley Mitchell and wife Betty all of Lumberton, Texas; 6 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
