Carolynette Willey

Carolynette Willey died on Thursday, June 14th, 2018 in Beaumont, Texas. She left this earth surrounded with the comfort of her family by her side.

Carloynette was a lifelong resident of Mauriceville, Texas. While being employed by Dupont Chemical Plant, she began a baking legacy. Carol's cakes became a thriving business in 1981. She enjoyed watching her daughter continue the legacy that we all know as Cakes Plus.

Carolynette was very well known in the community. She was involved with many activities at First Baptist Church Mauriceville. She would always stop to talk to you. She gave hugs that made you feel loved – especially to the ladies at the cake shop.

Carolynette was very talented and creative. She loved to work with flowers. She enjoyed making arrangements for special occasions. She loved to shop and find a good bargain. If you ever needed something – you could call her and she would find it. She would give anything she had to anyone.

Carolynette is survived by her daughter, Natalie Hill and her husband, Jeff of Mauriceville; and her son, Nolan DeShazo and wife, Emily of Seabrook; her mother, Mandy Lamurel Willey of Mauriceville; 4 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; her sister, Nelwynn Welsh and her husband, Kenneth of Mauriceville; her brothers, Hershal Willey and his wife, Rhonda of Mauriceville, John Willey and his wife, Pam of McLewis, Kevin Willey and his wife, Cary of Silsbee, and Jeremy Willey of Mauriceville. She is preceded in death by her her father, Henry Lee Willey, Jr.

A gathering of family and friends will be held Sunday, June 17, 2018 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church Mauriceville with a funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be held at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Huxley, Texas.

In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Carolynette's memory to Mauriceville First Baptist Church, 11540 TX-12, Orange, Texas. 77632.

I'm so very sorry to hear of Carol's passing, Just found out today. I met her and Donnie through, Gary Kolb, Donnie's brother. Such sweet people. She helped with flowers for my daughters wedding after Hurricane Rita, took out the florist. After Gary passed, we Kept in touch every few months. Although it has been a while since we talked. Very sweet lady !! Loved her ! She made our wedding cake, grooms cake, Bubbas 1st birthday cake and many more for several years ! Awesome and talented lady ! RIP sweet lady !

Loved this lady she was so giving got tea towels on sale still had them in her car and was passing them out to all the ladies one Wednesday evening. Such a memory for us. She was so talented and didn't mind sharing her talent and her great collections of bargains! We will miss her decorations at church. With love, Annette McWhirter

I had much joy and fun visiting with her at the homecoming this year and the best part was remembering the old days and she reminded me so much of my great grandma Raimond may you Rest In Peace
