Cecil Robert Hardin, 64, of Port Arthur, Texas, passed away on Friday, March 30, 2018 in Port Arthur, Texas. Cecil was born in Port Arthur on November 25, 1953 to the late, Henry Mel Hardin and Doris Bean.

Cecil worked as a diesel mechanic in the marine industry. He is survived by his loving wife Cathy Hardin of Port Arthur, his daughters Candace Sessums, and husband Danny, of Murchison, Texas, and Cara Valma, and husband Samuel, of Houston, Texas; his grandchildren Corey, Antonia, Aundrea, and Nathaniel Valma; his brothers Wayne (Mud) and Calvin Hardin, and sisters Winnie Camp, Carolyn Broussard, and Emily Benoit.

In addition to his parents, Cecil is preceded in death by his daughter, Cori Elizabeth Hardin, and his brother Henry Mel Hardin, Jr.

A gathering of family and friends to remember and honor Cecil’s life will be held on the evening of Tuesday, April 3, 2018, from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Melancon’s Funeral Home located at 1605 Avenue H, Nederland, TX 77627. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on the morning of Wednesday, April 4, 2018, also at Melancon’s Funeral Home. Interment will take place at the Memory Gardens Cemetery in Nederland immediately following the funeral service.
