Cecil James Hebert, Sr., 78, of Fannett passed away October 13, 2014. He was born December 20, 1935, in Beaumont, TX, to the late Eli Hebert and Mary Vivian Collier Hebert.

He was a member of First Church of God. Cecil worked as an auto mechanic for many years.

He is survived by his wife, Patti Hebert of Fannett; daughters, Cindy Maurich & husband, Johnny of Fannett; Tina Krenning & husband, Paul of Hamshire; son, Cecil James Hebert, Jr. & wife Kay of San Marcos; 5 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; step-daughter, Angela Rowsey of Fannett; step-sons, Buel Sauls III & wife, Libby of Vidor; Charlie Sauls & wife, Amanda of Vidor; 9 step-grandchildren.

Including his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Lois Hebert.

The family will receive visitors Tuesday, October 14, 2014 from 5-8 p.m. at Melancon’s Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Melancon’s Funeral Home, Rev. Robert “Scooter” Wenner & Wayne Jones officiating. Interment to follow at Memory Gardens of Jefferson County.

Gee whiz, Ceece. Seems just like yesterday that I remember tuning, racing VWs and so forth. You were the one who always reminded me to set the lifters when the engine was cold.
