Cecilia S. Bevins, 76, of Beaumont, Texas., passed away on Sunday, December 24, 2017, in Sweetwater, TN.

Cecilia was born on February, 7, 1941, to the late, Leldon E. Simmons and Mary H. Rogers Simmons.

Cecilia is survived by her daughter, Darlene Mallet and husband, Wayne of Nederland; sons, Richard Monteaux of Houston and John Bevins of Virginia; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and her brother, Jimmy Simmons and wife, Mary Nell of Beaumont.

In addition to her parents, Cecilia is preceded in death by her son, David Monteaux.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at Melancon’s Funeral Home on Thursday, December 28, 2017, from 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. with the funeral service to begin at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Faulkenberry Cemetery in Groesbeck,Texas on Friday, December 29, 2017, at 11:00 a.m.

I had the honor to work with you at Wal-Mart and we became friends. I recently gave you one of my Hi Cecile shout outs at Wal-Mart right before Christmas and we talked a few minutes. I wished you a Merry Christmas and I told you you were in my prayers. As long as I can remember you have always had a smile and a kind word for everyone.
