Charles John Glorioso
Charles John “Charlie” Glorioso, 76, of Port Arthur, passed away on October 5, 2022, in Port Arthur.
He was born on December 20, 1946, to Samuel and Evelyn Glorioso. Charlie served four years in the Marine Corps from 1967 to 1971, with half of that time deployed overseas. He was released from active duty at the rank of Sergeant. He was a radio operator, serving in Vietnam. He was later promoted to the rank of Staff Sergeant in the Marine Corps Reserve. His awards included the Combat Action Ribbon, Vietnamese Commendation Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Organized Marine Corps Reserve Medal, and several unit awards. Charlie was a life member of Wayne F. East VFW Post 4820, and a life member of 1st Sgt Joyce Venable Detachment 1382, Marine Corps League. As a member of Rudolph Lambert American Legion Post 7, Charlie was designated Sergeant-at-Arms Emeritus, by acclamation of the membership of the post in grateful appreciation of his dedicated service to the Legion. Charlie was a dedicated champion of veterans causes, avid sportsman, and a loving and devoted husband.
He was preceded in death by his Father, Samuel Joseph Glorioso, Mother Evelyn Glorioso, and his brother Samuel “Buddy” Glorioso.
He is survived by his wife Christa Glorioso, stepson Jason Simon, and three grandchildren; sisters, Mary Scully DeRouen and her husband Terry; Carmen Glorioso Perello and her husband Luis; and Judy Royal and her husband Don. Cremation will be performed under the direction of Levingston Funeral Home. A Celebration of life will be held Saturday, October 29, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at Rudolph Lambert American Legion Post 7, 3750 Memorial Blvd. Port Arthur, TX 77642.
