Charles Guth Schwepfinger

Charles Guth Schwepfinger, 83, of Port Arthur, Texas passed away quietly on March 5, 2009 at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas. He was born April 20, 1925 in Allentown, PA to the late Charles Meyers and Miriam Guth Schwepfinger. He was an active member of St. John Lutheran Church of Port Arthur. He was also a member of numerous Bridge Clubs, and a volunteer for the past several years with AARPIRS Tax Service, and an avid golfer. Charles served our country during WWII in the U.S. Navy.He was retired as a Chemical Engineer from Sandoz.He was the loving father of Dr. C. Brook Schwepfinger and wife, Betsy of Harriman, TN, and Sheree Poe and husband, Sherman of Houston, Texas and devoted grandfather of Julia, Rebecca, and Rachel Schwepfinger and Kristina Poe.A gathering of family and friends will be Sunday, March 8th from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at St. John Lutheran Church in Port Arthur. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, March 8th at 4:00 p.m. at St. John Lutheran Church, Rev. Buddy Blake officiating. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Nederland.
